We stayed at the Crystal 2000 hotel with Esprit, right on the pistes of Courchevel. Fantastic location and ski in/ski out. The food was excellent as were the staff. The hotel could just do with some modernising in places. Esprit are so good at family ski holidays thought, that while our boys are still young we will continue to holiday with them.
The resort of Courchevel is stunning, very pretty with great shopping and restaurants and bars. The pistes are well groomed with something for everyone. I found Courchevel the best resort for me due to the amount of wide blue pistes and greens near the hotel. There are plenty of bubble lifts which you can take and then return to La Croisette in if you don't want to ski back down. There are several restaurants worth visiting - in particular the Chenus Grill (would highly recommend the lasagne for lunch!!!) at the top of the Chenus Chairlift and you can ski back down Loze Est into Courchevel a lovely green through the trees. Creux is a great 2km piste from the top of the Saulire Express down to Courchevel, a little steep in places but if I could get down it...... I had a ski lesson with Davide from New Generation. Fantastic 2 hour lesson and improved so much after that. It is worth stopping at Chalet Pierre on the Verdons piste, stylish restaurant with live music in the afternoon and the best hot chocolate and cream on the mountains (if a little dear!!!!) In a day, we skied down to Courchevel 1550, up to the top of Loze and down into La Tania, a lovely run (green) through the trees. There is some great skiing over at Courchevel 1650 too with the Indian Run through the trees for the whole family. Worth stopping for lunch at the Courchneige Hotel at the top of the Bellecote Piste. Lovely terrace and views for lunch and if you fancy something a bit cheaper they do a Tartiflette or Lasagne with Fries and a Drink for around £9-10.
It is worth skiing over to Meribel for the day too, you can get there on blues and greens and I love the Blanchot Piste towards the altiport. I would highly recommend Courchevel and can't wait to get back there next year!
